Blogger 550 Error When Publishing by FTP

I was having an issue out of the blue when trying to use Live Writer when publishing to blogger, I kept getting the Error 550 message that my access was denied and my changes would not be saved. This is also why my comments were taking forever to appear on the site. If you get this blogger 550 error which may be one of the following variations:

Error 550: Access is denied.
Error 550: Requested action not taken: file unavailable.
Error 550: The system cannot find the path specified.

I have the solution for you. Check the value of your FTP path, under the settings tab (Settings -> Publishing). If the value is “/” change it to “.” (without the quotes). After you save the settings Blogger may change the setting to “./” but just push on it try to publish it.

This has to do with the way blogger interacts with some FTP programs blah blah blah, if you want the long winded definition email me, but just know this works :)

make sure your interweb cables aren’t bunched up..also check to make sure your chair leg isn’t sitting on your network hose.

My pilot light went out on my firewall last week and i started to get low on cursor oil.

computers…can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em.
