Put Your FireFox On Steriods

I thought my internet had been slow lately. Then i installed Vista and IE7 and i was amazed at the speed. So i asked my supergeek friend Nick if it was a hardware problem and he told me to try this fix for FireFox browser.

I made 3 simple changes and my Firefox is so much faster then it was before. Wow!

Here is what I did.

open up FireFox
Go to about:config (type it in the URL box)
type ‘pipe’ in the filter

change the following
pipelining to true
proxy.pipelining true
maxrequests to 250

then go load up some web pages. Much faster isnt it?

Nick’s explanation is “By default web browsers will only fetch 2 things at a time, 250 basically says server limit, fetch all that shit at once. We aren’t all using dial up anymore!”

I love having smart friends!

ok when will you fix mine?

DO NOT do this. It can get you banned from a server for spamming connections and can break pages. The number of connections is limited for a reason.
