Bill Cowher Radio Show in Raleigh
With the NFL playoffs approaching this weekend, the sporting world is dominated by news of coaching hiring’s, firings and pseudo retiring’s. If you haven’t been kept in the loop here is what the week has brought us.
Fired Art Shell – after 1 year in Oakland – while the team was horrible, 1 year isn’t right.
Fired Dennis Green – 16-32 in 3 years in Arizona with an ass load of talent is not getting it done. Talks are of Mike Sherman and Cam Cameron (Chargers OC).
Fired Jim Mora Jr – Canned after 2 mediocre seasons with the Falcons but the straw that broke the camel’s back was his lusting over the Univ. of Washington job on national radio. He’ll be in Washington in no time, as Ty Willingham is certain to get fired.
Fired Glen Mason – Univ of Minnesota suffers from Chuck Amato syndrome, Mason had one good year and their expectations were built up they thought they were Ohio State and should be winning the Big 10 every year, when they’ll really just be lucky to get that Axe back from Wisconsin.
Hired Nick Saban – Call it coach speak if you want to but Saban outright lied multiple times about leaving the Dolphins and taking the ‘Bama job, which he eventually did.
Hired Kevin Steele – ‘Bama hired away FSU LB Coach Kevin Steel to be their Defensive Coord. possibly opening up the doorway for Chuck Amato to return to his mothers womb, AKA, Bowden’s Coaching staff. Chuck’s name has been thrown around with Univ. of Minn. football opening.
Hired Tricket – OL coach from West Va, agreed to take the same position at FSU
Hired Steve Logan – The winningest coach in ECU football history but most recently NFL Europe coach and Radio host has been hired by Boston College to be their Offensive Coord.
Retired Bill Cowher – after 15 successful seasons as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cowher is about to announce he’s taking some time off and coming to Raleigh.
Its been well documented that Cowher has a house in Raleigh and his daughter is a Soph. at Ravenscroft so he is most likely coming to Raleigh until she goes off to college and then everyone expects him to be back in coaching. With Steve Logan departing for BC and leaving his Radio show, I see a perfect opportunity to get Bill Cowher on the air in Raleigh. Now he may not be as outspoken as Coach Logan and I’m sure his northern accent and personality maybe too much for some southern people to handle but man it would sure be entertaining. 620Thebull needs to get on the ball and make this happen.
Bill Cowher Radio Show, you heard it hear first.
