Bobby Bowden must be tired of having playing second fiddle to Urban Meyer and the University of Florida these days. UF is pushing FSU around on the feel and with the “U” also struggling Meyer can hand pick the recruits he wants from the talent rich Florida High Schools. Apparently Meyer has also pissed in Bowden’s corn flakes because Bobby is making some moves that makes me think he is trying to go out with one last hurrah. Bowden is rumored to be going after LSU’s offensive coordinator and recruiting guru Jimbo Fisher, who supposedly wants out from under Les Miles really bad and likes the possibility of taking over when Bowden steps down. But the most recent news is the rumors of Chuck Amato going back to FSU as LB coach and Executive Head Coach. With the departure of LB coach Kevin Steele to Bama, all signs are pointing to Amato going back to FSU to take on some of his old duties.

While Amato as a head coach was not that impressive, there is no denying that he recruited Florida well and that his defenses kept State in the games. With Fisher and Amato heading the recruiting trail and respective sides of the ball at FSU. I think we can dub these next few years, “Bowden’s Last Stand.” Look out Coach Meyer, Osceola is on the war path for you.
