Marty-ball bounced from San Diego

Right before bed last night Thomas sends me the story of Marty Schottenheimer getting fired from San Diego.  This coming less than a month after the Chargers offered Marty a 4.5$ contract extension, but now with Marty pulling a Chuck Amato, and losing 5 assistant coaches this off season, he was fired.  14-2 and fired. WOW.  A strange move for sure and it makes me wonder who in the world they are going to go after?

The San Diego Chargers are a team very close, if not already, being a Super Bowl caliber but is it enough?

Will Bill Cowher be attracted to this loaded team enough to come out of retirement?

Will Pete Carroll be interested in a job close to his home, especially with all the pressure of alleged recruiting violations?

I don’t even want to bring up Bill Parcells but his name will inevitably be mentioned.

With this team so close to the top, can you risk bringing in a high profile assistant? Mike Singletary? Ron Rivera? Norm Chow?

Would Jim Mora Jr have more success than he did with Vick in Atlanta?

Please don’t say Norv Turner! Great Asst. failed as Head Coach.

Who is left?????????

*A lot of people will be concerned about how this affects Philip Rivers but he is used to change.  Don’t forget he went through 3 Offensive Cordinators while at NC State. (Chow, Galbraith, Mazzone) He’ll be ok.

looks like Norv Turner is on the top of their list - http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6470314?MSNHPHMA

I’d go with Singletary or Ron Rivera.
