Teddy Bruschi’s ego is bigger then his heart

Now I’m sitting here watching the Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots game on ESPN’s Sunday Night football and all the hype is around Teddy Bruschi. Bruschi is returning to the field for the first time after suffering a stroke that was supposed to have ended his career because tests after the stroke revealed a hole in his heart. But today I’m sitting here watching him run around the field, making tackles, and throwing his body around without a care in the world. He maybe the nicest guy in the world, but I think Teddy Bruschi is an idiot. There is no reason for him to be playing football. Sure I understand he loves the game of football and the Patriots aren’t the same w/o him, but life is way more valuable then a game.

Bruschi 35 years old, married and has 2 little boys and an ego the size of Montana. Why in the world is he on the field playing football? The only explanation he has given has been ‘the Patriots need me’ and ‘I’ve been working hard to get back here’. I wonder what his wife has to say about this? What more can he possibly have to play for that makes football take precedence over his family? He’s got super bowl rings, Super Bowl MVP trophies, and has been an icon on one of the greatest football dynasties I may see in my lifetime (winning 3 Superbowls in 4 years). Why is he still playing?

Teddy Bruschi has been giving the ultimate opportunity to enjoy life. Retire at 35 and be there while your two little boys grow up and enjoy your family. How many other fathers out there would kill to be able to not work and spend more time with their kids? I know personally I’d love to retire at 35 and be able to be with my kids while they grow up. Family takes priority over any sport or job no matter what.

The only possible reason I can think of as to why Teddy Bruschi is playing football today is that he is doing it to satisfy his own massive ego.

Hey Evan, first of all, Bruschi is 32, secondly, he has three kids and lastly, he’s been medically cleared by 10 doctors that he was fine to play. They actually stated that there is nothing wrong with him because his heart problem was corrected. He’s a freaking inspiration to all stroke victims and it gives all of them hope that they too can get back to normal. Learn you’re facts before you post Rookie!!!

Yea i knew the age wasnt accurate but regardless. ESPN and every other news publication is sucking off bruschi like he is the greatest thing since slice bread, and they are portraying the wrong picture. Any chump that will put a job/football over his THREE kids has his priorities in the wrong place.

Those same 10 doctors who cleared him also said that the plug used to fill the hole in his heart has never been tested before let along tested on a football player. How bout them facts for ya!?

3

Could ESPN suck off Bruschi any more? I mean, is it physically possible?

I believe one of the biggest reasons he came back so quickly was his doctors. You think every stroke victim gets the kind of treatment he does? When you say inspiration, Notorious, you meant to say inspiration for stroke victims to be rich. No way a normal person makes this kind of recovery. Most ppl with this are forced to retire. Nothing like money to solve problems.

Anyway, if I was Teddy I’d be sitting at home, enjoying my family and thinking of getting into coaching.

You can take your comments and stick it straight up your candy A$$. Sounds as if you’re a little jealous of his money?? You interpretation of Bruschi is way off, he’s not egotistical nor is he out to prove anybody wrong. He’s one of the best “guys” NFL has and will be from here on out. Your ridiculous article on him slams his credibility and I think you’re wrong. You’re opinion is your opinion and you have a right to voice it.

5

Buy the way if you were watching the game you would see his wife applauding his efforts and if you actually followed the story, his wife is/has been one of his biggest supporters througout his rehab. With complete medical clearance from the best doctors in the world why not go back to living a normal life, doing what you do and not letting a medical condition run your life.

Do you know teddy Bruschi? do you know that his wife wasnt putting on a show last night? you don’t know him nor do I, its my opinion that he shouldnt be playing when he has more important things in his life…who knows maybe he needs the money and thats why he is playing….making him out ot be a hero is not telling the whole story.

maybe i should criticize espn…

7

Maybe u should. Your comments are way off on this one. Stick to writing about other things.

8

I really hold your opinion in high regard.
/sarcasm.

An obvious Patriots homer and biased sports fan.

9

I came across this horsesh!t you dribbled out, must be nice to look back and see that Bruschi never had any heart problems. Douchebag.

10

You are so wrong. I’d like to see you go out there after a stroke and play football. You are an idiot for thinking that. An ego the size of Montana?!?!? Sorry, but that sounds like TO to me. You need to learn your facts before you say stuff like that.

11

Gentlemen…..I have heard that Teddy passed away this evening…..I hope it’s not true….not sure if it was heart related….

12

It is true…..horrible….just horrible, it was a car accident

13

God’s gift to us is to give us more skill and talent than we can develop in a lifetime….It is our gift to God to use as much talent and skill as we possibly can in our lifetime. Teddy Brucshi lived life on his own terms. From what I can see he was an inspiration to others his whole adult life not just since his stroke. He was a great example for our youth. His parents should be more than proud. You could actually see the love in his eyes for his family, friends, fans and yes for football. I wish I could have had the pleasure to have known him.

15

Yo fuck off bruschi is the man

16

I dont care wat any of u say teddy bruschi is my hero…do any of you play football its the greatest sport ever. I dont blame bruschi for goin back out and playing he loves the game thats why he is so good he has a drive and a will to play…he loves the game.

17

What A JackA$$ Teddy Bruschi is a true american hero and you My friend are a true idiot…………..wow you suck

18

He is a superdocuhe. That ESPN broadcast was one of the most disgusting displays of the word Hero in the history of broadcast media. Its a shame he wasn’t playing out in LA or San Diego, he probably would have put out those fires just by staring at them, or if he played for the vikings he could have caught that bridge before it collapsed.

What a hero!

19

bruschi sux.
what does he do so goog??? i don’t see it, & neither do millions of others. he’s an arrogant hype freak. get a life bruschi…people don’t give a crap about you.

20

O BTW assholes it’s TEDY…not two D, unless the other one stands for DUMBASS for you. Jeez, the guy has a stroke and you bash him. Ridiculous. If you hate him, don’t post about it like that, it’s completely out of bounds.

21

Teddy Bruschi doesn’t have an ego the size of Montana. He is merely a football player that loves the game and his family clearly supports him in his recovery and his return to the sport. He obviously didn’t chose football over his family you idiot, he continued to play only with the consent of his wife, he even stated this in an interivew with Mike Lynch from Boston Channel 5 News. So maybe you should get your facts straight before you start making acusations about a guy that you don’t even know. And why are you even debating over this, its Teddy’s personal business, if he wants to continue playing football then let him, he’s an NFL icon and one of the best middle linebackers in the NFL. Also, his return to playing one of the most physically demanding sports after suffering a nearly fatal stroke is an inspiration to not only stroke victims, but to all people who suffer from health problems because it shows that anybody can overcome anything, they only have to have the will and strength to do so.

22

I would like to wish Teddy Bruschi the best of luck on SuperBowl!!! I’m also a “6″ stroke survivor.
The Best For Teddy!!

23

I know you’re commenting on a football player and brawn is more important than brains (to you) but it seems to me that if you’re going to post something on the internet for millions to see, you would use proper grammar in your TITLE…. (it’s “than” not “then” when you’re comparing)…

Plus, Teddy Bruschi is playing this Super Bowl game for stroke survivors everywhere and raising the moral of every one of them. I think he’s amazing.

24

wait one minute, first is name is Tedy not Teddy, second he dose not have a big ego, third he is a huge inspiration. He is aslo one of the nicest nfl players!

25

Evan, your information is mostly inaccurate. I came across your website three years late so by now you should know the truth about Bruschi. Your article is out of date so you should consider revising it or taking it off the Internet. Try reading his book also, you might learn a thing or two.

26

Also just stumbled on this… What a bunch of garbage! As pointed out earlier; all supposition and full of inaccuracies (and just dismissed by Evan). Just print anything to get your name out there right Evan… you’re a dipshiat!!!
