….the Christmas List
Its that time of year again, when people start asking “what would you like for Christmas?” This question used to be so easy. I’d get the Sears 10,000 page catalog, flip right to the toy section and circle 75% of it. Well now I’m 26 and there is no Sears Catalog and I never thought figuring out things for other people to buy me would be so hard. Its not really difficult but the problem is the older you get, the more expensive the things you want get. Case in point my mom recently sent me her Christmas list which included: 2005 Lexus silver, new Mercedes 2005, new Chrysler 300M, a plasma tv, AND 3 rings (rubies emeralds sapphires and diamonds). At least she’s not picky
Now regardless of whether she is using the age old negotiation tactic of asking for a lot more then you intend on getting (b/c she did have a lot less expensive items on there), it still proves my point.
I’ve struggled for a few weeks now to generate this list and ince most of my family doesn’t have a Trump like budget for Christmas presents i’ve toned it down a little
here it is:
A 2005 Nissan Titan, Harley, Bedroom Set, Sod for the backyard (and some mexicans to put it down), IBM Thinkpad, Arbor to cover the patio, and Hardwood Flooring….ok ok I’m only partly kidding, but hey mamma didn’t raise a fool, I learn from her experience…AIM HIGH!
Evan’s Christmas List
–Expensive–
- Top Priority -Canon Rebel XT 350D
- Nissan Pathfinder 2001 Seat Covers, Front and Rear - Red and black
- High Speed Compact Flash Card
- Xbox 360 (comes out Nov 22nd
- REI Taku Jacket-Green
- Sit On Top Kayak - King Fish, Smoke (Sams, CostCO, West Marine)
- Cannodale or Giant Road Bike
–Moderate—
—still pricey but cheaper—
- LL Bean Shoes
- OceanMaster Snorkel
- Mares Pure Vision Mask
- Ladder
- ipod mini
- New Balance Sneakers- Size 11.5
- Web Design Book
- Mexican to do my Yardwork…yea i was serious
- Golf shoes
Well I’m all out of ideas. I know 95% of this is too expensive but its the things i will use. I spend 99% of my time in front of the computer or outside so thats where all this comes from. Trying to get more into Photographry, Kayaking, and Biking but they are all expensive activities. I’m perfectly happy with gift certs to any of the places that sell these things, Circuit city, Amazon, Lowes, etc…every bit helps.
If you have other ideas my shoe size is 11.5 (12)(real dressy shoes aren’t needed), XL Shirt (Collarless or button down, solid colors, dark, plain), Casual Pants (cargo type, 38/32 or 36/32).
Too bad there isnt a Sears Christmas Catalog for adults…..Well I guess I’ve pretty much used a Mens Journal magazine for mine…..I’m Aiming High, at least there is no Lexus on the list :)!
