MBA Students Are Cheaters!

According to MSN Money’s story, 56% of MBA students are cheaters. This has to be a little low!

Honestly, when doing my MBA everything was mostly group work so cheating was not really possible. I maybe wrong, but I don’t remember ever taking a cheat sheet into a test, without having permission (some teachers would let you bring notes and books).

However, everyone did pass around old assignments, quizzes, tests, and paper that if you didn’t have them, you were at a big disadvantage. I think I still have the entire East Carolina MBA program in 1 single zip file on my computer (with 3 versions of each doc).

Its just how it works. People helped each other out whe possible. Everyone knew we were going for the same goal, to get that piece of paper. However, there was that 5% of people who were in a secret competition with you and even though you did 1/2 of this major paper for your group, you just did it faster then the others who were doing the rest, they would tell the Dr. Bello that you didn’t pull your weight causing your grade to bomb and get your first ‘C’. Then when confronted would just say ‘oh well’. I should have punched the sloot in the neck and if I remembered her name I’d start a smear campaign.

I digress, I’m pretty sure the ECU MBA program is just like others around the country, people help each other out, and if you want to consider that cheating then I’m guilty and I know that 56% is about 40% shy of being accurate. And don’t blame the students. Blame the professors who are too lazy to create their own tests and quizzes and use the tests that come with the book and are easily available to anyone who knows how to use Google. Or the professors who read powerpoints directly from the text books and consider that teaching you Finance II. There were a few professors who got it and understood how the students worked. Dr. McLeod, whom everyone feared, would change his tests for each class and semeseter, they weren’t completely different but just enough to keep you honest. He was a good professor. Hard but good.

This article is quick to call us MBA’s cheaters but I’d like to consider us more resource efficient and the professor more lazy.

Dude, you are the man. Did you ever have to take an F because you got caught “cheating” against the rules?

2

No F’s . If you get 1 F you are out of the program.

if you get more than 2 C’s you are out of the program.

thus why everyone works to help each other.

Or how about my situation where I got a C in ACCT b/c I got a D+ on my final (not cumulative test mind you). Even though my average was a solid B, he dropped me to a C.

I tried to grade challenge, but there was no challenge system for Graduates, you simply have to bend over and take what they give you. THAT is why people cheat.

And Ev, that chick was a Bitch.
