…I Want to Learn to Play the Piano

I guess I should have listend to my Ma. My parents made my older brother and sister both take piano lessons, and i guess after those dreadful hours of listening to off beat charlie brown theme songs and chariots of fire renditions, they gave up and didnt make me take them. Well, now I wish they did. There have been some kickass songs with nice piano solos, but one that has inspired me recently is from a live recording of an O.A.R concert. It’s unreal, goes on for about 3 minutes during a 12 minute rendition of City on Down.

I am going to try to cut up the song and post the file one of these days but for now you can download the whole song here (thanks to OARSA.org) and skip to the 7 minute 20 second mark and listen for yourselves.

here is what someone who was actually at the show (Bonaroo ‘04) said:

Amazing show. Gabe Dixon sounded amazing on keys. This show had the best version of “City on Down” that I have ever heard. It was really too bad that they only could play an hour, because I would’ve stayed in that tent all day if they did. -bjwillauer August 10, 2004, 6:24 pm

So if anyone wants to teach me the piano, donate a piano to me, buy me a keyboard, or buy me piano lessons, feel free! I’ll play Chariots of Fire for you when I learn!
