Where Were You on 9/11
9/11 was one of those momements in time when you don’t ever forget where you were when you heard it. The Space Shuttle Challenger explosion was the only other for me.
On the morning of 9/11 I awoke at my normal time and heard one of my roomates, Brad, yelling at me that a plane just hit a building in NYC. Brad was watching Good Morning America or one of those TV shows when I ran downstairs right as the building was going into flames and then the 2nd plane hit.
I couldn’t believe what I was watching. I was glued to the TV for the next hour until I had to go to class. I remember my Business Law professor and friend of mine, Dr. aumer, when told of the incident, said “oh its nothing, lets get on with the lesson.” We were trying to get him to turn the class TV onto the news but he believed that discussing the effects of Tort Law on a company were more important. It’s one of those mornings where you will always remember every single detail.
Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001?

Yeah, I woke up for my afternoon class and heard about the news from some guy down the dorms while walking to class with him. At the time I didn’t know it was going to be this big of a deal, thought it would just cause a random fire that they’d put out in an hour or so.
I had a group presentation in Com 202 Small Group Communications. Stayed out the night before and was a little hung over so i slept until the last possible second. When i arrived on campus, people were huddled together everywhere…i still had no idea what was going on….
Got to class and some chick filled me in. At that point people were still unclear as to what the fuck was going on. Our Professor stuck her head in and told us all to go home.
I sat on the couch and watch TV for about 15 straight hours. It still seems surreal.
Wow, just thinking about this day gives me chills.
I was going up to the Student Union office to get some work done before class and I looked up at our TV and I thought someone was watching a movie, then our secretary came in and said that this was all live. I remember staring at the TV in disbelief, then they said a plane had hit the Pentagon. My Dad (who was in the military at the time) was to be in DC that day so I started flipping out trying to call him and my Mom and neither of them answered. Finally got through to my Mom who let me know he was fine and on his way home.
I was so visibly shaken my Public Speaking professor made me go home, I remember just feeling lost- I needed to talk to someone I was just in absolute shock.
Don’t you remember that day? I gave you a ride to Sex Ed. class with that freak crazy professor and they finally agreed to let us turn on the TV. Before we got into class you told me what happened but I totally didn’t believe you and thought you were nuts.
Hope all is well!
oh damn you are right! i knew I was forgetting something. I just remember my Business Law professor not turning the damn TV on…
thanks JS
