Brew, Jen, Moisty and I met up with Nate and some others and went to Raleigh Wide Open, which was the reopening of the downtown area and Fayetteville St. The place was packed and it was the first event in Raleigh that you truly saw a diverse population.

While we were leaving about 9pm and walking back towards Nate’s place to get something to eat at Vick’s and call it a night, one of the patrons of this diverse population, comes walking up to us and says “hey can I ask ya something and tell ya something?” and w/o letting us answer he says “Something bad is goin’ down tonight, don’t be around here.” We kept walking as we were close to Vick’s and right across from Nate’s and he eventually turned and walked away, but as we were waiting for our pizza from Vick’s we heard several loud bangs and we all nearly pee’d our pants. Visibly shaken we looked around and saw it was just the Raleigh Wide Open fireworks.

We all began laughing at each other and how Brew jumped out of his flops.

We speculated some more about what the guy was talking about and came to the conclusion he was planning on robbing us and by that time our food was ready. We get our pies and scurry across the street to the gate at nate’s apartment. Our luck it is the one time it decides to be locked.

We call upstairs and notice our umm friend crossing the street heading towards us, and we begin yelling at nate to stop talking to his neighbor and hurry up to let us in.

We push through the gate and the guy turns around.

A few more fireworks and more pee running down our legs and we settle down in Nate’s house and decide we are ready to go.

Too much excitement in the big city for us, Back to the peaceful Morrisville living!
