2007 ACC Championship Thoughts
Moral victories suck.
No surprise UNC had more free throw attempts but when was the last time UNC shot 99% from the free throw line?
The Pack gave the Heels everything they could handle and then some. It was at least comforting to see us actually get beat rather than beat ourselves.
Even with all those Mickey D’s AA, the Heels don’t win w/o Rashon freakin-Terry.
If there was ever a time where a player on the losing team deserved MVP, its certainly Costner.
This maybe partially me being so used to a Herb post season but I think we may lay an egg in the NIT.
I’m more upset that we couldn’t win 2 or 3 more games this year and make the dance then losing this game. If we would have had Atsur healthy all year, no telling where this team would be.
I’m not the only one who loves Sidney
“… that would be a great statement for us, but I think… [you’d have to] attribute that to coach Lowe. The guy’s an excellent coach… X’s and O’s, I’ve never seen anything like it, the way he draws up these quick hitters and plays to get people in different positions. I’ve got to tip my hat to him; he’s the BEST coach I’ve ever played for.” -Gavin Grant, 11mins into this video:
This tourney helped put NC State back on the basketball map.
The result is that, at least for a week, NC State is special again, and when N.C. State is special, so is the ACC.
As bizarre as the setting is, the cruise ship Inspiration parked outside the arena in Tampa Bay, the final is about North Carolina and N.C. State and the way things used to be.
And if you love tradition, how can you complain about that?
I can’t remember the last time (before this season) that I was proud to be a Wolfpack Basketball fan. This post says it best
