Do we really care about Katie Couric? Apparently the USA Today thinks so b/c they put out a story out covering Katie Couric’s new style. They go into such detail as to discuss her “new more subtle” wardrobe and her “new toned down hair style.” When was that last time there was a press release regarding Walter Kronkite’s suit or Peter Jennings tie? I can see tomorrow’s headline “Wolf Blitzer Parts His Hair on the Other Side” THE OTHER SIDE! oh my!

Ok, I understand CBS is firing up the hype machine and hopes to use Couric to revive the evening news but do we really watch the evening news anymore? I know in the old times, you fogies used to gather around and watch the evening news but its 2006 and we are connected 24/7. We work on computers with instant news at our finger tips, we get text message updates to our cell phones, we listen to radio updates in our cars to and from work. Its a changing day in age and we just don’t care about the evening news let alone Katie Couric’s hair style.
