Working at home will lead you to watch all sorts of crazy things on Daytime tv. Most programs are geared for stay at home moms who want to sit around eat bon-bons and watch trashy soap operas so finding something for a 28year old male that is not Sportscenter reruns is pretty hard. I usually end up having old movies on the AMC channel on running the background but today I decided to channel surf. Where I ended up surprised me. I landed on C-Span 2. I never watched C-SPAN 1 and had no idea it was so popular that we needed a C-Span 2!

The sad thing is the channel has been on now for at least an hour and a half and I kind of like it. Today’s topic of the US Senate was whether or not if you are deported and re-enter the US if you should receive a mandatory jail sentence or not and for some reason the 2 Senators leading the debate are from South Carolina and Massachusetts. Seems a bit odd to me. Do the Senators from Ariz., Texas, New Mexico, and Cali, have an opinion on the topic or is this targeted towards all of the illegal Canadians entering Massachusetts?

I find this pretty entertaining that all these Senators are blasting each other and their ideas from a moral and ethical perspective but lead each counter argument with “I’d like to respond to good friend the Senator from ___” and would follow that with the political equivalent of ‘You’re a damn idiot and your mother’s a whore’.

And after an hour and a half of bickering about this amendment, you would have thought something would have been established but when the chairman asked for ‘Yay’ or ‘Nay’ the only one who said ‘Yay’ was the Republican from South Carolina and the only one who said ‘Nay’ was the Democrat from Massachusetts so the amendment was suspended for further debate.

It is no wonder nothing ever gets done in this country that does not revolve around Oil. Our representatives are all gray haired windbags who have their own agendas. They talk talk talk and when it comes down to the vote the Elephants stay with the Elephants and the Donkey’s stay with the Donkey’s.

With that said I’m using this post to officially announce my candidacy for the House of Representatives from the State of NC. I’m pretty stubborn, I have some ugly ties, I have my own agenda and can call other Representatives names all I need is the gray hair and I’d be a shoe in and eventually perfect fit for the Senate.
