Dear ESPN, Enough with A-Rod Already
I like the New York Yankees.
I like Alex Rodriguez.
I can’t stand during every baseball game for the last two weeks we’ve seen A-rod yell out whatever he said between the two Toronto Blue Jay infielders that caused them to drop the ball. Whether what he did was a cheap shot or not is a matter of personal opinion, but the fact that we have to listen to Tim Brandt, Joe Morgan (Rick Suttcliffe), and Steve Phillips talk about it constantly is unarguably obnoxious. We know there are unwritten rules in baseball but they are just that unwritten.
Its a constant barage on A-Rod because he is the best player in the game, makes the most money and frankly, I think these guys are jealous. Why don’t they talk about his game winning homer against the Sox last night? Probably because it was something positive for him. Mysteriously we don’t see any conversation of Mike Lowell’s forearm shiver to Robinson Cano in an attempt to break up a double play (which Cano turned). That was more of a cheap shot than what A-rod did. Players will often let up or put their guard down to let a runner no there is no play so they don’t get hurt for nothing. Unless you are Jason Varitek. In the 2004 World Series, he did just that, Varitek put his guard down and acted as if there was going to be no play at the plate only to have the cut off man throw him the ball and tag a would be scoring Larry Walker out. Another unwritten rule broken.
These unwritten rules are ridiculous and getting out of hand in my opinion (along with everything A-Rod on ESPN). There are so many at this point, they probably couldn’t be written down.

You are so friggin biased.
When A-Rod had his out of body experience in April, ALL ESPN TALKED ABOUT was how he was tracking to hit like 9000 homers and it was the best April ever, and all they showed were his highlights…
I think April was overkill as well, but its not biased its called being a fan. I’d feel the same way if it was David Ortiz, I don’t care about his personal life or Arods and showing the same highly over and over no matter what it is, gets annoying as hell
