Grey’s Anatomy Moving to Thursday Night and ABC’s fall Lineup

According to the Houston Chronicle, Grey’s Anatomy will be on Thursday nights.

They also published the rest of the fall lineup for ABC. Not many changes and a few new (and probably bad shows).

The lowdown: ABC introduced a fall lineup Tuesday containing four new dramas and five new comedies.

In a surprise move, the network moved Grey’s Anatomy to 8 p.m. Thursdays, where it will compete with CBS’ CSI, the No. 1 drama on TV, and NBC’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which may be the most anticipated show of the season.

ABC’s interest in Thursday is serious. In addition to moving Grey’s, it canceled Primetime et al..

The lineup:

Monday: Wife Swap; The Bachelor; What About Brian.

Tuesday: Dancing With the Stars; Let’s Rob, a comedy in which Donal Logue and a group of misfits plot to rob Mick Jagger (who will make recurring appearances); Help Me Help You, a comedy about group therapy; Boston Legal.

Wednesday: Dancing With the Stars; Lost; The Nine, a drama starring Chi McBride, Tim Daly and Scott Wolf about nine people caught in a bank robbery gone wrong.

Thursday: Big Day, a comedy that devotes a season to one couple’s wedding day; Notes From the Underbelly, a comedy about a couple about to become parents; Grey’s Anatomy; Six Degrees, from J.J. Abrams, a drama about six New Yorkers unaware of the impact they have on each other.

Friday:
Betty the Ugly, a comedy about an ordinary-looking woman in the fashion biz; Men in Trees, a drama about a relationship coach (Anne Heche) who gets a reality wake-up call; 20/20.

Saturday: College football.

Sunday: America’s Funniest Home Videos; Extreme Makeover: Home Edition; Desperate Housewives; Brothers & Sisters, a drama about a family as seen through the eyes of TV pundit, who is portrayed by Calista Flockhart.

Waiting in the wings: Supernanny; George Lopez; According to Jim; American Inventor; the game show Set for the Rest of Your Life; Day Break, a Memento-like drama in which a detective (Taye Diggs) accused of a murder relives every day that he’s been on the run; Greg Behrendt’s Wake-Up Call, a reality show about a relationship healer; Just For Laughs, a Punk’d-like hidden-camera show; Traveler, about two young men who mistakenly become terrorist suspects; In Case of Emergency, a comedy about four high-school pals whose lives didn’t turn out as planned.

Canceled: Commander in Chief; Crumbs; The Evidence; Freddie; Hope & Faith; In Justice; Invasion; Primetime; Sons and Daughters.

Sons & Daughters was funny as hell, thanks mysterious Neilson families for taking another cutting-egde, well-written, hilarious half-hour comedy off the air so we can all get see more of the same old shit.

If there was a channel that showed Arrested Developement, Sons & Daughters, Freaks & Geeks, Undeclared and Andy Richter Controls the universe; i would quit my job and watch it all day.
With a few notable exceptions, network TV is only slightly more entertaining than watching paint dry.
