Tecmo Bowl is Back
I don’t know where or for what system, but rumors are abound that Tecmo Bowl and all its retro goodness is coming being released for today’s systems in 2008. Unfortunately its the SNES version but still pretty exciting none the less. It gives me flashes of Bo Jackson running through and over everyone, Joe Montana dropping back 30 yards to throw a 40 yard bomb to Jerry Rice and Mike Singletary sacking any QB who didn’t throw the ball in 3.4 seconds.
For anyone who wants a piece of me in Tecmo Bowl, I’ll let you know now, I was unbeatable!
Here is my top 5 Nintendo Sports games:
1.) Tecmo Super Bowl
2.) NES Ice Hockey
3.) RBI Baseball
4.) Excite Bike
5.) Double Dribble
5.) Mike Tyson’s Punch Out

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out was the best NES game ever…….took me forever to beat Mike Tyson, could remember the code to get to him by heart, etc.
I remember Tecmo Bowl, where 2 players select the play by secretly pushing a button, and if two players pushed the same button (1 out of 4 chances), it’s almost an automatic sack for the defense.
Excite Bike was a fun game, but Blades of Steel, Super Spike V-ball, World Cup Super Soccer wasn’t even mentioned? SHAME on you.
Haha, You’re right, I remember having to hide the control from friends when playing tecmo bowl….great stuff!
i loved blades of steel but couldn’t remember if it was a Sega game or not, even so, I can’t have two hockey games on my list and NES Ice Hockey was more fun.
I maybe the only kid who grew up with a NES who didn’t beat mike tyson. I couldnt get past the 2nd piston honda.
What’re you talking about? Blades of Steel is WAY better than NES Ice Hockey.
